Exotic

The Exotic is a breed with many nicknames, such as ' The Lazy Man's Persian ', ' The Teddy bear Cat ', or ' The Persian in a Mini-Skirt.

With today's busy lifestyles, people who admire the look and personality of a Persian but do not have time for the daily grooming, Exotics are the best kept secret of the cat fancy. Exotic is a cat of the same type and build as the Persian. The body is short and heavy, the legs are sturdy, the tail short, and the head is broad with small, rounded ears and a flat face, except the coat has a thick, dense, plush, short coat. The coat of Exotic is unique to the breed, and gives the cat a soft, rounded, teddy bear look.

The cat's temperament is very similar to Persian; it is friendly and laid back - a living, purring, lap cat, but the Exotic has more active and playful nature than Persian. Breeders of the Exotic believe the cats to be robust and hardier than a lot of other bread due to their expanded gene pool, which has included the American Shorthair, Russian Blue, Burmese and Persian bloodlines.

The Exotic is an ideal breed that produces a quiet, sweet, peaceful and loyal companion. Exotic really enjoys human company and would much rather be with humans than other cats. In general, male Exotics are more affectionate than the female. Females can be somewhat more aloof.

The laid back nature of Exotic allows it to blend in your lifestyle at any age. All things considered, the Exotic is a wonderful addition to any family.
